Where Did I Go?

Well... I've been basically completely absent from my blog for a while now... so what happened? Where have I been all this time? Will I be coming back to blogging? Well... that's what this post is about. See... I pretty much stopped blogging due to being busy. Between work, school, Covid, and a bunch of …

Demon Sayer Corps: Kimetsu no Yaiba 26 – Off the Training, Onto the Train

The Moyatorium

Belated final thoughts on last season’s hype.

Who’s who:

  • Purple = Aria the 14th Magic Conan
  • Green = Plyasm of the Wormhole
  • Blue Astral the Gemini
  • Red = Moya the Tori

1. What are your general thoughts on this episode? [Mandatory]

More train hype.

Loved the first half and didn’t mind the second either.

A very good episode, and a fitting endpoint for the season. It does leave me very hopeful for the Infinity Train movie, however!!

2. Did the episode fit your expectations, and in which ways did it differ from it? (If it does) [Mandatory]

…yup. We even got a bonus Muzan disguised as a woman (just to distinguish him from Michael Jackson).

That elaborate piece of architecture!!! It’s an upgrade of Kyougai’s house. I wonder if Kyougai helped build it. And gender-bent Muzan was indeed a pleasant surprise.

I loved the episode. I’d been waiting to…

Anime Food Shiritori – Meal #4: Shinseki-don from Lucky Star

The Moyatorium

You might be wondering what in the world shinseki-don is. Perhaps you have heard of its relative, oyako-don.

oyakodonOyako-don from Kakuriyou no Yadomeshi

Well, you can find a detailed explanation at the bottom of the post in my discussion with Astral, but why spoil it for yourself. Go ahead and read the recipe first! (This is why I don’t own a food blog.)

As you might know, I’m more of a baker than a chef. I get frightened by oil popping over the stove (totally not frying anything anytime soon). So take my recipe with a grain of salt.

If you haven’t checked out Astral’s last nigirizushi creation in our Shiritori series, do remember to do so! Unlike me, Astral’s a real chef.

Shinseki-don

Yields: 4-5 servings

Ingredients:

With reference to http://www.tofoodwithlove.com/2010/10/oyako-don-chicken-egg-with-rice.html#more

shinseki 1Basics:

  • 450 g chicken thighs (or roughly 4 pieces)
  • 1 tbsp mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 1 tbsp dashi

Anime Food Shiritori – Meal #3: Nigirizushi

Well now, this was an interesting meal to make. Not only was it hard to think of a meal to make after Moya dropped the "N" in my lap, but Nigirizushi isn't the easiest thing to make, especially keeping health in mind. Since we're dealing with raw fish here, we need to be very careful …

Anime Food Shiritori – Meal #1: Takoyaki from Mob Psycho 100

Hello everyone, and welcome to a brand-new collab between myself and the always amazing Moyatori (Please check out her blog, she's awesome). As we're both foodies who love to cook, and as my Cooking in Anime series is one of the more popular on my blog, I came up with a bit of an idea for …

Demon Sayer Corps: Kimetsu no Yaiba 16 – Spider Mother Wrenches Limbs and Hearts

Coming hot on the heels of our episode 15 post, Moya’s put in some overtime to help catch up. With some (expectedly) beautiful visuals, music, and action as Tanjiro and crew delve into the mystery of the spider mountain, the show is surely ramping up towards a climax! Make sure to check out Moya’s post for all our thoughts on this fabulous show!

The Moyatorium

This episode has who I think is the most likable villain so far, and I’m happy I got to post it.

  • Purple = Aria (patron of Ukogi)
  • Green = Plyasm (defender of shounen glamour)
  • Blue Astral (possessor of a good heart)
  • Red = Me (sympathizer of spiders)

1. What are your general thoughts on this episode? [Mandatory]

Aside from Zenitsu’s bit (where I kept noticing the use of his CGI model), it’s a return to form for Demon Slayer.

I’ll be honest, as much as I think Kyougai is a cool villain with cool powers, his arc was pretty slow-paced, with not a lot happening each episode. This episode I feel marks a return to form for Demon Slayer, as the pacing seems to really be picking up again, and giving us some nice action as well.

Finally another strategy battle (probably the most complex one yet), and…

Demon Sayer Corps: Kimetsu no Yaiba Ep13: Cooling down

Totally slacking on these reblogs, but trying to catch up… check out episode 13 of Kimetsu no Yaiba as a certain person returns to the collab (finally)

Plyasm's wormhole

Sup. I’m alive, yay~

Nah, not really yay, since I’m still not going to do any extra posts(yet), but at least the collab post is still coming out.

And uh, that’s actually about all I want to say before the collab post. Hopefully I’ll actually get the time, energy and drive to finish my own posts sometime, all ye poor people waiting for me to post *good* stuff again.

Anyways, here’s the discussion around episode 13 of Kimetsu no Yaiba!

Legend:
Purple: Scary cat lady[link to blog]
Red: Slightly less scary cat lady  [link to blog]
Blue: The one that won’t stop waifuing people [link to blog]
Green: A stupid that didn’t join the collab for a while due to dying

Demon Sayer Corps: Kimetsu no Yaiba 12 – Somnambulism, Motion Sickness, and Other Afflictions

I’ve been super bad at keeping up on these reblogs, huh? With lots going on, I suppose that’s kind of to be expected, though… But with some new friends in the mix, and Moya trying her hand at some bad pun jobs, what’s not to like??

The Moyatorium

Happy July 24th! You ask me what’s happening on this day? Well…nothing in particular as far as I know, but I’m sure we can find a reason to celebrate on Foodimentary – oh guess what, it’s National Tequila Day! I refuse to drink any alcohol that isn’t sweetened, and this certainly doesn’t relate to the episode in any way, but congrats if you celebrate this holiday.

  • Purple = Aria (crazy bird lady)
  • Green = Plyasm (future-seeing manga reader)
  • Blue Astral (Nezuko’s other oniisan)
  • Red = Me (hard-to-impress shounen critic)

1. What are your general thoughts on this episode? [Mandatory]

Woot! More worldbuilding, more Kasugai crow (although he scared me for a second) and more butt-kicking.

Zenitsu redeeming himself unconsciously, demon politics, and Tanjiro’s self-to-self pep talk (which I surprisingly didn’t mind).

Man, the combat in this show is always just so good. Tanjiro being a good boi aside…
