Fall 2017 Rundown: Week 6

vermont-fall0816

This week was just a bit of a disaster for me, I apologize. My home’s internet was out for literally half the week, so I only had half the normal amount of time in my already crammed schedule to watch Anime. As such, I only managed to watch about half the shows on my list, though I did get caught up to a couple. I still absolutely adore this season, though, and i’m very much looking forward to more of many of these shows.

Best of the Best:

Land of the Lustrous (Episode 6): All caught up, here, and i’m happy to say, this is officially on my top list of the season. The visuals are amazing, yes, but don’t forget about the intriguing story and genuinely interesting characters. Phos in particular might just be my favorite character this season.

RWBY Season 5 (Episode 5)

Girls’ Last Tour (Episode 5)

Ancient Magus’ Bride (Episode 6)

Kino’s Journey (Episode 6)

A Very Nice Watch:

Inuyashiki Last Hero (Episode 4): Oooh boy, here’s a show that’s interesting and unique in it’s own way. It continues to improve, and might be able to jump rankings to the top-tier shows. It’s one of the most interesting shows that i’ve seen that deals with what might happen when someone is given incredible power, but might not have good intentions.

Recovery of an MMO Junkie (Episode 7): Yeah, the vibe from Gamers! has come and is here to stay. I really don’t agree with what Sakura-chan is doing, I feel like he’s just going to end up causing everyone far more heartache and confusion, in the long run. But, well, I guess I get what he’s trying to do, even if it is utterly moronic.

BLEND-S (Episode 7): This is a show that is consistently cute and funny, every week. Every new episode brings laughs and thrills, and i’m just in love with it, really. I’d like to see some more character development, or some advancement in the story, but that’s probably a faint hope, at this point.

These are OK, I guess:

Anime-Gataris (Episode 6): Episode 6 has brought the show back to life, for sure. The constant references to various anime are just hilarious, and keeps me engaged as I try to work out what each reference is tied to, especially the more vague ones. This is an Otaku’s wet dream, here.

UQ Holder (Episode 2)

A Sister’s All You Need (Episode 5): I’m starting to enjoy this one more, now. The comedy is funny, and while some of the fanservice is in somewhat poor taste, the story itself more than makes up for it. It’s like Eromanga-sensei, but with a story I can actually care about.

Konohana Kitan (Episode 4)

Juni Taisen Zodiac War (Episode 7): This show reminds me of Assassins Creed. They have taken a super cool, interesting idea, with lots of resources and promising features, and managed to make it boring. How do you make a show about the world’s greatest warriors fighting it out in a Battle Royale boring???

Black Clover (Episode 7): I don’t have a whole lot of good to say about this one. We’ve got a tsundere girl who’s pretty cute, I guess… that’s about it. Asta still annoys the pants off of me, and that’s not even the worst part of the show, honestly.

Dropped Shows:

TwoCar (Episode 3)

Dies Irae (Episode 3)

My Girlfriend is a Shobitch (Episode 3)

King’s Game (Episode 4)

Sengoku Night Blood (Episode 1)

Urahara (Episode 3)

Evil or Live (Episode 3)

It really is shaping up to be one of the best out of a really great season. The art, the story, the characters, i’m falling in love with all of it.
