100 Days of Anime: Day 54

Hey guys, it’s Day 54 of the 100 Days of Anime Challenge, and our question today is… kind of not really a question, so i’ll turn it into one. Can you recommend an Anime that you like, that most people maybe don’t know about or have never seen? Oh man, have I got a good one for you guys. It’s a show that i’ve seen fully only once, but I absolutely adore it. If you haven’t ever seen Welcome to the N.H.K., you’re missing out on a great show.

Welcome to the N.H.K. is a show about a group of socially incompetent hikikomori living in Tokyo. They each have their own problems or trouble that they face on a daily basis, and the protagonist, Tatsuhiro Sato is basically wasting his life until he meets Misaki Nakahara, a young girl who says she can cure him of his shut-in ways. Dealing with some heavy issues like anxiety, depression, suicide, unemployment, and much more, we get to see a lot of the darker side of humanity, mostly displayed on the main character himself. Welcome to the N.H.K. has a lot of personal meaning to me, and I think it can touch a lot of others as well, given the chance.

Show of… keystrokes? Who out there has seen Welcome to the N.H.K.? If you have, how does the show resonate with you? If you haven’t, go watch it, it’s fantastic. What are some shows that you guys love, shows that are far from mainstream but still wonderful? Let me know down in the comments, and I hope to see everyone again tomorrow.
